WNBA All-Star Rookie Angel Reese Launching New Podcast

Chicago Sky power forward Angel Reese has already made the WNBA’s All-Star team as a rookie. Now, she’s getting in on the podcast space.

And she’ll be doing it as part of a Hall of Famer’s roster.

The 6-foot-3 budding WNBA superstar is linking up with fellow former LSU Tigers superstar center Shaquille O’Neal to present her brand-new podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” on the 15-time NBA All-Star’s “The Big Podcast Network” (via Playmaker HQ), according to Eddie Gonzalez of Complex Sports.

“It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new audiences I wouldn’t necessarily have before,” Reese told Gonzalez. “I can’t wait to share a different side with listeners and have them come on this ride with me.”

Selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Reese has emerged as one of the new faces of the league, alongside fellow All-Star rookie Caitlin Clark, now a point guard with the Indiana Fever.

Reese and Clark met twice in the NCAA Tournament, once in the 2023 title game, which Reese’s Tigers won, and next in the 2024 Elite Eight, in which Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes enacted their revenge.

“I mainly want this podcast to be a place for authentic and unfiltered conversations,” the WNBA’s leading rebounder revealed. “Whether I’m sharing insights on basketball, the current trends in fashion, or the latest news in entertainment.”

This year, while playing in all 29 contests for the 11-18 Sky, Reese is averaging 13.5 points, a league-leading 12.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks per bout. Chicago would be a No. 8 seed if the WNBA season ended today, the lowest seed in the postseason.

“I like to look at the big picture and think long term about my business,” Reese added of her approach to building out her brand. “My main focus right now is my team and doing everything I can to help us win on the court. Off the court, I have a lot of long-term career aspirations, and one of them includes broadcasting! So I like to think of Unapologetically Angel as the perfect platform where I can share my thoughts, have fun with my guests, and start to hone my craft with interviewing too.”

The podcast will tip off next Thursday, Sept. 5, and will include a YouTube video component. It will also be available everywhere else podcasts can be downloaded and streamed, per Gonzalez.
