Will Taylor Swift Appear at Kamala Harris’ Pennsylvania Rally? What We Know

Rumors are circulating on social media that Taylor Swift could appear at a rally that Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly holding in Pennsylvania on the eve of Election Day.

Harris will be holding a rally in front of the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art on Monday, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on Wednesday, citing a source familiar with the planning of the event.

Swift’s potential appearance at Harris’ final campaign stop could give Harris a boost in a key battleground state where polls show a close contest between her and former president Donald Trump.

The singer, who was born in Pennsylvania, has a dedicated fandom of “Swifties”—many of them young women—who are a key demographic in the election.

Newsweek has contacted the Harris campaign and Swift’s publicist for comment via email.

Democrats have been leaning on celebrity star power at events, with stars including Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen appearing at Harris rallies in the closing weeks of the campaign.

The news of Monday’s rally led some to speculate that Swift could make an appearance to endorse Harris in person, noting that she will be on a break from her record-breaking Eras Tour that night.

“There is a certain huge celebrity whose tour is on a break after Sunday night, that just so happens to be from Pennsylvania,” one person, M L C, who self-describes as a “Dem voter,” wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

A Harris-supporting account called Protect Kamala Harris on X wrote that “rumors are circulating that Taylor Swift may join Kamala Harris at her final campaign stop in Pennsylvania on Monday.”

Swift is set to continue her Eras Tour in Indianapolis for three nights from Friday. After that, the tour doesn’t pick up again until November 14 in Toronto.

The star endorsed Harris shortly after the presidential debate in September.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote on Instagram, where she has 283 million followers.

She added: “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

She also wrote that her endorsement was partly prompted by Trump posting AI-generated images suggested she had endorsed him.

It “brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter,” she wrote.
