Brad Keselowski Drops Major Hint on RFK Racing’s Potential 2025 Expansion

Brad Keselowski, co-owner of RFK Racing and driver of the No. 6 car, has signaled a major change on the horizon for the team: an expansion to three full-time Cup Series charters in 2025.

Speaking at the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Media Day held at the Charlotte Convention Center, Keselowski hinted at the possibility despite nothing being finalized as of yet.

“Not today but hopefully soon,” Keselowski confirmed via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports.

Since 2017, RFK Racing has been operating as a two-car team with Keselowski driving the No. 6 car and Chris Buescher behind the wheel of the No. 17 car. Despite being a smaller lineup, the team has shown strong performance recently, accumulating four race wins since the start of the 2023 season.

Additionally, RFK Racing has utilized the No. 60 car selectively in various races with notable drivers including David Ragan, Cam Waters, and Joey Hand, who secured an impressive P4 finish at the Chicago Street Race.

The potential addition of a third full-time car in 2025 could signify a big expansion for RFK Racing. “I would say anything’s on the table,” Keselowski said.

“We did this year, not full-time. … Nothing’s off the table,” Keselowski added.

Sponsorship is crucial in making this expansion feasible, and securing a major sponsor could be the key to realizing these plans. Bob Pockrass weighed in:

“RFK Racing is in the running to get the Kroger sponsorship for 2025, and if so, could possibly start a third full-time car.”

Kroger, with a history of sponsoring drivers like Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece while they were at JTG Daugherty Racing, has established a solid rapport, potentially lining up to support RFK Racing’s ambitious expansion plans.

Pockrass is also predicting that 23XI Racing is likely to purchase Stewart-Haas Racing’s available charter, expanding to three full-time rides in 2025. There is certainly a possible trend towards larger team operations in the coming seasons, making RFK Racing’s potential expansion timely.

If Kroger’s sponsorship materializes, it could significantly boost the team’s resources, enabling them to compete more aggressively in the Cup Series with three full-time cars.
