Pittman Jr. was listed as questionable on Friday, but all signs point to the second draft pick being ready to go for the third game of the season. Not only do the Colts want him there, but they may need him.

The Colts have already been depleted in their wide receiver room. Second-year wide receiver Josh Downs has been dealing with an ankle injury and has missed the first two games of the season. Although Downs is expected to play on Sunday, the Colts can’t afford to lose another pass catcher while they get another one back.

Pittman Jr. will be vital for the Colts’ offense today as they look to avoid an 0-3 start to the season. The Colts currently sit as a one-point favorite at home against the 1-1 Bears.

Indianapolis’ performance in their Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers was less than impressive. The offense only scored 10 points, and Pittman Jr. was not himself, as he only recorded three receptions for 21 yards on seven targets.

Overall, Pittman Jr. has recorded seven receptions for 52 yards on 15 targets. Pittmna Jr. will look for a get-right game this Sunday, but it won’t be easy as he faces a stifling Bears defense that ranks eight in opponent yards per game, fifth in opponent yards per play, and sixth in opponent points per game.

The Bears’ defense is a tough cookie to crack, and with the struggles Pittman Jr. has already endured, it could be a long game for the former USC Trojan.

The Colts selected the 26-year-old with the No. 34 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Before his NFL career, Pittman Jr. was named the Second-team All-American in 2019 and a two-time First-team All-Pac-12 in 2017 and 2019.

Thus far, through his five-year career, the California native has tallied 343 receptions for 3,714 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 10.8 yards per reception.

All eyes will be on the Colts and whether or not they can come away with their first victory of the 2024 season. Kick-off is at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET.
