Cute Moment ‘Sleepy’ Toddler Tucks Himself in With Golden Retriever for Nap

The internet has fallen in love with a toddler’s typical nap routine, which involves the family dog.

In an August 12 Instagram video posted by @saber_thegolden, a dog is lying down in the hallway when a toddler gets up close and personal. Turns out the little boy is preparing for his nap, and what better way to rest than on a giant, fluffy golden retriever?

“Once he starts getting sleepy, he finds the parachute, which he uses as a blanket, and looks for the dog,” the dog’s owner told Newsweek via Instagram.

And that’s exactly what happens in the clip. The toddler grabs his parachute blanket, adjusts it to fit around his legs and scoots next to his furry bestie.

The text on the video reads: “Just a baby tucking himself into the doggo for a lil nap.”

These two peas in a pod get ample cuddle sessions together as nap time is a daily occurrence. However, sleeping together doesn’t always last the entire time. Not that it’s either of their faults.

“We move him to the bed eventually,” the Instagram user explained.

Luckily, this golden retriever doesn’t seem to mind whether or not she’s sleeping with the toddler. By the looks of it, she is used to the child’s naptime routine. She also took the opportunity to nap herself, putting her head fully on the ground as her eyes got sleepy.

The dog’s reaction shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. The golden retriever dog breed is known to be one of the best family dogs. They have a patient temperament and are nonaggressive, which means they can get along with children of all ages.

And when these two best buds aren’t sleeping they tackle the world together. Other videos on the dog’s Instagram show them sitting at the front door during their neighborhood watch duty. The dog is even gentle trying to play with her new friend.

The Instagram video amassed over 13,000 views, 880 likes and 170 comments.

“OMG, how adorable is this? Babies just love their dogs and their dogs love them back!” commented a viewer.

“That baby said, ‘If u don’t wanna come to my bed, imma bring my bed to you’ lmao,” another Instagram user wrote.

One commenter wrote what was likely going through her mind: “Doggy like, ‘You ready? Alright, here we go.'”
