Donald Trump Complains About Fox News Coverage of His Fraud Case
Former President Donald Trump lashed out at Fox News in a social media post, complaining about the network’s coverage of his New York civil fraud case as a key deadline to stop his properties from being seized is less than a day away.
Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, was fined $355 million after being found liable in a civil fraud trial brought against him and The Trump Organization by New York Attorney General Letitia James. The former president and executives at the Trump Organization were accused in the lawsuit of fraudulently overvaluing assets to secure more favorable bank loans. Trump, who has maintained that he has done nothing wrong and argued that the case is politically motivated, has appealed the ruling.
With interest, the penalty is now topping $450 million, and James has begun the process to allow the seizure of Trump’s real estate assets if he’s unable to pay or post an appeal bond before Monday. In a recent court filing, Trump’s legal team admitted that the former president has been unable to secure the bond amount after asking dozens of surety entities, which all turned him down due to the size of the bond. The filing called the possibility of posting the amount in time a “practical impossibility.”
On Sunday, the former president took aim at Fox News in a post on his Truth Social platform over the conservative network’s coverage of the fraud case.
“Don’t Like the way FoxNews is reporting the Letitia James Election Interference Scam,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They don’t want to discuss how ridiculous the Corrupt Judge’s fine of 450 Million Dollars is. It should be $ZERO. The only fraud was the valuation of Mar-a-Lago at $18,000,000 by the Crooked Judge in order to help his already fully debunked narrative. They should pay me damages for what they have done, and ultimately will. THESE ARE NOT THE PEOPLE THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DESTROYING AMERICA!”

Trump did not specify what Fox News program or host he had a problem with in his criticism on social media.
Newsweek reached out via email on Sunday to representatives for Trump and Fox News for comment.
While Trump and Fox News have generally been on good terms throughout his political career, he’s become increasingly critical of the conservative network in recent years. Trump did not make a live appearance on the network from 2022 until earlier this year when Fox News held a town hall in Iowa. Earlier this month, Trump blasted Fox News on Truth Social over the network featuring guests who criticize him.
