Donald Trump Says Nancy Pelosi Turned On Biden ‘Like a Dog’

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was “crazy as a bedbug” and has accused her of turning on President Joe Biden “like a dog.”

More than an hour into his speech at a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday—his first rally since last Saturday’s attempt on his life—Trump dubbed Pelosi “Crazy Nancy” and said she is “selling out” Biden.

On Thursday, CNN reported that Pelosi privately relayed fears to Biden that current polling suggests he cannot win the 2024 election, though none of the sources cited in the report indicated whether the California congresswoman specifically said the president should not seek a second term.

“She’s [Kamala Harris] not as crazy as Nancy Pelosi, Crazy Nancy. Did you see Nancy Pelosi is selling out Biden now? Did you see?” he said.

“She turned on him like a dog. ‘Well I don’t know if he should continue,’ all of a sudden. Where did that come from? She was a hundred percent, all of a sudden, she’s not sure.

“‘Not sure’ means he’s gone. But, no she’s crazy as a bedbug; crazy.”

Trump’s comment that Pelosi “turned on him [Biden] like a dog,” came after the California Democrat’s appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe last Wednesday, when she avoided endorsing Biden when asked if the president had her support.

“It’s up to the president to decide if he’s going to run,” she said. “We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short.”

Pressed by interviewer Jonathan Lemire on whether she wanted Biden to stay in the race, she said, “I want him to do whatever he decides to do. And that’s the way it is. Whatever he decides, we go with.”

The president previously said he would only drop out if his team showed him polling that demonstrated “there’s no way you can win.”

However, Pelosi appeared to endorse the president on Sunday, posting on X to defend the record of Biden’s administration and the Democratic Party.

The former speaker wrote, “@JoeBiden and Democrats delivered 15.7 million jobs (443,000 in North Carolina alone!) along with transformative investments in climate action, infrastructure and a clean energy future.

“And with Biden/Harris and Congressional Democrats working For The People, WE’RE NOT DONE YET!”

Last week, other senior Democrats were reported to have talked to the president about him dropping out of the race, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Schumer and Jeffries, the top two Democrats in Congress, are said to have both privately told Biden they were concerned about his chances of victory and that it might be best that he drop out of the race, The New York Times and ABC News reported, citing unnamed sources.

Despite concerns about his age and fitness, Biden has repeatedly said that he will be the Democratic candidate. He is set to be confirmed next month ahead of the party’s national convention in Chicago.
