Mom-of-4 Moves Couch, Finds Huge Snakeskin Underneath: ‘Help Me’

A mother who was moving furniture to decorate for Christmas had a shock when she discovered what was hidden behind her couch.

Sara Lehr lives a rural cabin in Northwest Arkansas with her husband, Cody, and their four children. As the family gears up for the festive season, Lehr was moving things around to make way for the Christmas decorations.

It was when she moved the couch that she had the frightening discovery of a finding a large snakeskin and she decided to upload a video with the caption: ‘SOS help me.’

“I moved our couch to sweep and rearrange furniture to set up our tree and found the snakeskin up under the edge of the couch,” she told Newsweek.

“Immediately, I thought ‘there is no way this is what I think this is’. I sent a quick Snapchat to my family about it (I hadn’t even stretched it out at this point), then I thought that TikTok should see this.”

Lehr’s video, which has received 3.2 million views in under a week, shows the floor behind her couch after she moved it and the long snakeskin she found.

“Somebody send help,” she says in the video, after she shows the impressive length of the snakeskin.

“I stretched out the skin to film the video and that’s when I realized just how big it really was,” she told Newsweek. “I wasn’t expecting to get many views at all on the video. At this point my page only had about 6k followers.

“I was so surprised by the traction it gained. We are grateful for all of the advice and support so far!”

According to World Population Review, Arkansas is home to 39 different snake species, six of which are venomous. The most common in the state are the eastern hognose and the black rat.

Lehr’s video got thousands of comments from other TikTok users sharing their thoughts and reactions to what she found in her home.

One user called Marie said: “I thought you were overreacting but after finishing the video I’m concerned you’re under-reacting.”

“I was thinking maybe spiders or something, I definitely didn’t expect a damn near 6″ long nope rope shed,” @MWarren shared.

Social media user Bennie Freed advised: “First of all check underneath the couch make sure you don’t have a rip underneath it and it might be inside your couch.”

“This is why I live where the air hurts my face,” anther user called Zoe Zuhlsdorf joked.

A person using the name Hannah Banana commented: “I was not prepared. I gasped. I shivered.”

And user Isabell Alexandra added: “Suddenly the blizzard outside my window doesn’t seem that bad.”
