NASCAR Star Brad Keselowski Reacts to Hilarious Olympics Markus Rooth Twitter Post

Brad Keselowski, the owner-driver for RFK Racing and former Cup Series champion, recently found himself involved in social media banter following the men’s decathlon event at the Paris Olympics. The unexpected social media storm began when fans noticed his striking resemblance to Norwegian decathlete Markus Rooth, who had just received a thrilling gold medal in Paris.

The playful online comments suggested, in jest, that Keselowski and Rooth might be “distant cousins,” owing to their similar appearances. Embracing the fun, Keselowski joined in.

“What’d you do on your off week?” he joked.

Markus Rooth’s victory at the Olympics came as he achieved personal bests across the board, especially in the 1500m run that wrapped up his gold medal pursuit. His win, a personal and national triumph, was hailed as improbable and emotionally charged, with it being Norway’s first gold medal in decathlon for 104 years.

The current NASCAR season has seen Keselowski showing significant performance. After ending a drought with a win at Darlington, he entered the NASCAR Playoffs as the 8-seed, equipped with a promising stack of playoff points. Last season, although he entered the postseason on points and his run ended disappointingly, this year’s standing offers a stronger buffer against competitors and enhances his chances of advancing from the Round of 12, and potentially further.

At the age of 40, Keselowski’s performance has bolstered RFK Racing’s stance as a formidable contender in the ongoing season. His solid runs and the team’s impressive strategy hint at a potentially deep playoff run.

Late last month, the driver reacted to Governor Henry McMaster’s thoughts on Darlington Raceway, with NASCAR less than a month away from racing at the legendary circuit for the Cook Out Southern 500.

McMaster said the following on X:

“Darlington Raceway has provided generations of NASCAR fans with spectacular memories and breathtaking finishes. It was a pleasure to be in Myrtle Beach today to talk about the upcoming race weekend and the tremendous economic impact the track @TooToughToTame has on our state.”

Keselowski responded:

“Thank you for hosting us today Governor!

“Look forward to coming back to Darlington, SC in a few weeks. A+ milkshakes.”

With NASCAR currently in its two-week break, Keselowski is keen to have his team rest.

“Our strategy so far has been to tell people, ‘Please go home. Please take a vacation but (do) not force it,” he said. “We learned the hard way that forcing people to take vacations is not always good for them. They sometimes get more mad at you for that than if you just told them we have to work.

“Everybody will figure out their own thing with kind of like a heavy nod of please go some time off, and come back well-rested.”
