Suri Cruise Is the Spitting Image of Mom Katie Holmes Ahead of Her 18th Birthday

Suri Cruise was recently spotted enjoying a day out in Soho, New York City, with a close-knit group of friends.

The young teen, who turns 18 on April 18, was seen embracing the spring weather, sporting a chic ensemble of a red and white striped sweater, a white silk skirt, and brown sandals. Her dark brown hair flowed in loose waves, sharing a striking resemblance to her mother, Katie Holmes.

However, it appears that her milestone birthday will not include her father, Tom Cruise. According to Page Six, Suri has been estranged from the Mission Impossible star for many years, with sources indicating that they haven’t seen each other since 2012.

“Katie has safeguarded Suri and she’s a devoted mom,” the source told the outlet. “This is a girl who is a private citizen. She hasn’t lived her life in public.”

This estrangement follows Holmes’ divorce from Cruise, reportedly influenced by his involvement with Scientology. Since then, the Dawson’s Creek alum has been committed to maintaining a normal and private life for Suri away from the public eye.

“What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” Holmes, 45, disclosed to Glamour in 2023.

Despite her low-profile upbringing, Suri is showing signs of following in her parents’ footsteps. Last December, she starred as Morticia Addams in her high school’s production of “The Addams Family: A New Musical.” An audience member praised her performance, stating, “She was amazing.”

This isn’t the first time Suri has dabbled in acting and performing, as her mother has showcased her daughter’s vocal talents in her cinematic projects. Suri’s singing is featured in the opening credits of the 2022 film Alone Together, which Holmes directed, produced, and starred in. In this project, Suri performs a rendition of the 1934 classic “Blue Moon,” originally by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart.
