The Rock Suffers Brutal Injury While Filming Latest Movie
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Dwayne Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” recently encountered an injury while on set for his upcoming film, and he candidly shared the details with his Instagram followers.
In a Tuesday, June 11 Instagram post, he revealed the mishap that occurred during filming for his new movie titled The Smashing Machine, centered around the life of MMA legend Mark Kerr. Johnson humorously remarked, “Anytime your film is called The Smashing Machine, well, you’re kind of going to get smashed up.”
He proceeded to display the damage on his elbow, describing it as, “It looks like I have a cantaloupe in the bottom of my elbow… I got banged up pretty bad.”
Explaining that he must wait for the swelling to subside before undergoing an MRI, he shared a piece of wisdom from his father, who used to say, “A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy.”
Seeking advice from his followers for effective anti-inflammatories, he showcased some he had tried and humorously mentioned that his Teremana Tequila was his preferred option. Raising a glass to the camera, he said, “Cheers!” After taking a sip, he quipped, “It feels better already.”
Many fans flooded the comments section with suggestions for remedies and shared thoughts on the swelling of his elbow.
“Grew another bicep on your elbow,” one user wrote. Another gave the advice of, “Looks like some acute bursitis. Ice, compression wrap, and possibly having it drained! Oh yea, definitely the healing hooch.” A third user said, “Arnica is excellent for inflammation. You can take it in dissolvable tablets or apply oil topically. 💪🏽”
