‘Wordle’ #1001 Hints, Clues and Answer for Saturday, March 16 Puzzle
If you’re struggling with today’s Wordle puzzle, you are not alone.
Speaking to Newsweek in January 2022, the creator of the game, Brooklyn-based software engineer Josh Wardle, admitted that sometimes he has a hard time guessing the mysterious five-letter words, too, which he normally does in four or five attempts.
Wardle created the game for his puzzle-loving partner during the COVID-19 lockdown and then realized that it had the potential to be played by much-wider audiences. After he made the game public, the number of active players tackling Wordle went from 90 to 2 million.
More than two years later, the game is still hugely popular and has reached more than 1,000 daily brainteasers.

Part of its charm is in its simplicity. “There is a reason that every word is five letters long and that you are allowed six attempts to guess it,” Wardle told Newsweek in 2022. “That might seem arbitrary but, with the prototype version, I tested different word lengths and experimented with the number of tries that players were allowed.
“Through that process of refinement, I figured out that five letters and six tries was the ideal sweet spot. It’s just limited enough to feel challenging and to make you think,” he said.
However, there are those days when it can be just a little bit too challenging. If you are feeling stuck with your guesses, read our hints below. Each will give you a hand to figure out today’s word, so you might need only one to help you guess it.
