KC Concepcion Receives Strong Endorsement Ahead of NFL Draft
Multiple wide receivers are expected to go in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, with Ohio State’s Carnell Tate and Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson gaining the most attention right now.
However, Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion could be a draft steal, depending on which team drafts him and how he develops in the league. According to head coach Mike Elko, he’s proud to have Concepcion representing the Aggies at the event in Pittsburgh.
“It was really cool to see him grow. Obviously, coming to A&M, we knew he was gonna have the opportunity to do some big media things,” Elko said on “Good Morning Football” from the NFL Draft site.
“To his credit, he’s always jumped at it. He’s always said, ‘Give me the mic. Put me in front of the camera. I want to go out there. I want to do these things.’ I think everything he’s been through this offseason has made him stronger,” the A&M head coach said.

“I’m also really proud of how he’s handled it all. I think he’s represented himself and his family really, really well. He’s gonna have the Texas A&M logo on at the draft, and that’s pretty cool,” Elko said.
A unique aspect of Concepcion is his speech impediment, which he’s embraced rather than hiding from. According to a Sporting News report, Concepcion pushed himself to speak more rather than let his hereditary stutter embarrass him anymore.
He had a strong 2025 season at A&M, with 61 catches for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. However, Concepcion also had to deal with a minor injury, undergoing routine arthroscopic knee surgery last month.
The good news is that NBC Sports Pro Football Talk reported it shouldn’t be a concern for teams considering selecting him in the draft, as he should be fully healthy in time for NFL rookie camps.
NFL mock drafts vary on where KC Concepcion could land on Thursday night. The NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah suggests he could go No. 24 to the Cleveland Browns, which would potentially pair him with young quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
ESPN’s Peter Schrager had the same projection in his final mock draft on Wednesday, calling Concepcion a “do-it-everything wideout” and saying he’s heard comparisons to Zay Flowers.
